In a press conference earlier today, J.C. Staff announced the cast that will be involved in their upcoming anime, Trash.
The assembled media initially reacted with confusion at the promotional video, which was composed of panning shots of a large landfill with closeups on discarded banana peels and moldy bread. However, when presenters announced the voice cast — a dream team of seiyuu with deep experience and success in the industry including Kamiya Hiroshi, Konishi Katsuyuki, and Ohara Sayaka, and Hanazawa Kana — the audience erupted into raucous applause.
Director Mizushima Tsutomu, best known for his recent work with Shirobako and Girls Und Panzer, is set to direct Trash, which sent anime fans into a frenzy on social media.
When Shirobako series composition lead Yokote Michiko and Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun animation director Taniguchi Junichiro were also confirmed to be working on Trash, several critics preemptively declared it ‘Anime of the Year’ and fans around the world erupted into euphoria.
Before J.C. Staff could finish revealing the names of the opening and ending songs, bacchanal fans burned down the newly-reconstructed Akihabara.
