TOKYO, Japan – The upcoming anime Kantai Collection, which was originally slated to premier in Summer 2014 and was already previously delayed to the Fall 2014 season, was delayed again and is now scheduled to premiere as part of the Winter 2015 season. According to reports, this additional delay is the result of the creators being unable to come up with a plot.

Series composer Hanada Jukki has told Anime Maru that he is in quite of a bind.

“It’s just various fleet missions with cute girls being the stand-ins for the vessels. How the fuck do you make a story out of that?”

The announcement of a Kancolle anime caused a lot of excitement among fans of the explosively popular franchise, but even rabid fans seemed baffled as to how something like this could be made into a show. “I’m not even sure how they’ll do the battles,” said one poster on Kancollefans.net, “none of it is ever explained in the game. Why are we even excited about this again?”

However, director Kusakawa Keizo assured fans that there was nothing to worry about. “We are so confident that this show will do well that we are already planning a low-budget, poorly produced sequel to milk every last yen out of it that we possibly can.”

Keizo-san was unaware that the Anime Maru reporter was recording him at the time.
