Hideaki Anno In Talks With J.J. Abrams To Create ‘Evangelion: The NERV Awakens’

NERV Awakens

HOLLYWOOD, CA – Several leading movie blogs have broken the news that anime legend Hideaki Anno is in talks with J.J. Abrams and his production company Bad Robot to produce a sequel film to his seminal series Neon Genesis Evangelion tentatively titled Evangelion: The NERV Awakens.

According to one report, the sequel, set 20 years after the events depicted in the series, will feature the three main characters – Shinji, Rei, and Asuka – reprising their roles as adults. Plot details are being kept closely under wraps, but producers already excited fans by announcing that unlike the flashy, big budget Rebuild of Evangelion films, this sequel will go back to the classic style of low production values, frustratingly incomprehensible plots, passive and annoying characters, and is likely to have a very displeasing ending that will leave even the most hardcore fans scratching their heads in nostalgic confusion.

When asked about the project, Hideaki Anno stated, “I want to make more money. Annoying the fans is just an added benefit.”

“Just wait until you see the black mecha pilot.”
