Computer hardware manufacturer MSI revealed earlier today a special edition graphics card for Nvidia’s upcoming line of GeForce RTX 3000 series GPUs. Dubbed the GeForce RTX 3080 “White Fox”, the card will be part of a new collaboration with virtual YouTuber agency Hololive and will feature the character Shirakami Fubuki.
The card will appear quite different from the stock reference design; most noticeably it will come equipped with a triple fan cooling solution allowing the card to be factory overclocked for high end performance. Each fan will have individually addressable RGB lightning which MSI says will be configurable through its Mystic Light software. Perhaps the most standout feature, however, will be a custom printed backplate featuring full color Fubuki character artwork on the underside of the card.
“We are excited to be bringing this new collaborative project to gaming enthusiasts,” said MSI Director of Marketing Frank Chao. “During these challenging times, Hololive has demonstrated an ability to bring communities together and deliver a positive message to fans across the world. We believe this new Hololive design will be a perfect fit for the modern gamer who now spends more time watching, rather than playing, games.”
GeForce RTX 3080 cards are set to launch on September 17th at a starting price of $699. MSI has not mentioned what the exact price of the special edition card will be, but early indications show that enthusiasts will likely end up buying it no matter what the final cost ends up being.
MSI stated that other Hololive themed graphics cards are also planned to eventually become available including a Akai Haato variant that can dynamically overclock and burn itself, as well as a pink-colored Sakura Miko “Elite Edition” RTX 3090 for high end gamers.
